CField donated 21 retired laptops to University College Cork’s ‘Laptop Loan Scheme’

15 months ago, CField donated 17 retired laptops to ‘Together-Razem’, a migrant-led organization which provides support services to Polish and Eastern European migrants in Ireland.

These laptops allowed Ukrainian refugees to access various services such mental health programmes, peer support groups, and English classes.

On Monday 24th March, our IT Department donated a further 21 retired laptops to University College Cork’s ‘Laptop Loan Scheme’.

These laptops will be used by students who cannot afford one, to help with their studies.

Furthermore, many of these devices will also be given to local DEIS schools in the greater Cork area.

Delivering Equal Opportunity in Schools (DEIS), is a Department of Education policy. Under the DEIS programme, schools with the highest number of students at risk of educational disadvantage get extra resources, for example laptops.

A huge thank you to Rossand Cathal for taking the time to make this happen!

Given that it was a live site and the administrative offices continued to function throughout the project period, disruption was minimised and management of movement of staff to different locations within the building during the project was facilitated efficiently. Any issues or concerns raised were dealt with positively in a timely manner and the project was completed without delays.”
