Upgrade works to existing water main and installation of new treatment plant.
This contract involved the drilling and installation of Mahon Points own water well to reduce the amount of monies being spent on the supply of water to the shopping center by the local authority.
The well was drilled on the north side of the car park and a 50mm via watermain pipe was laid from the well to the plant room located in the undercroft carpark below Tesco. The pipe was ran underground until it reached the external wall of the undercroft carpark and it was run on the underside of the podium slab at high level. In total, there was approximately 350 linear meters of pipe laid.
Access to all carparks was maintained at all times during these works. Final connections were made at nighttime to ensure water supply to the toilets, eateries and shops were not affected throughout the day. The contract also involved the installation of new pumps and flow meters
